Welcome to  the 4H Pepperell Trailblazers

We will be meeting with members every Wednesday  from September thru May.   Unmounted  meetings will be at the Pepperell Senior Center located on Nashua road just before the entrance to Lomar Park.  Mounted meetings will be held at the Hollis ring on Depot road in Hollis,  Nh.    Our meeting time is 4pm-5:30pm.  In addition, there will be club events,  activities and field trips,  many of them will fall on weekend days.   Please see schedule for dates and locations.

We will be following the 4H horse curriculum  during the year. We will be covering the care and management of horses as well as riding disciplines.  Cloverbuds are members ages 5-8,  juniors ages 9-13 and seniors ages 14-18.   Age is based on January 1st of the upcoming year.     Horse riding competitions are not a requirement, but members are encouraged to attend them if interested.  We also encourage members to pursue other interest they may have, animals, public safety,  ATV's,  reptiles, science,  public speaking, sports, woodworking,  cooking  etc.

If a member would like to compete in the 4H regional show, the 4H fair and/or the 4H state horse show,  they will be required to not miss more than 4 meetings during the year,  attend  at least one of the following Middlesex County competitions: Horse Judging, Horse Bowl or Hippology,  complete a visual presentation, participate in the clubs  community service projects,  submit records  and be able to demonstrate safe riding on the mount they intend to use.   Members must begin riding by April 1st if they intend to participate in  the regional horse show in July.

Parents are always welcome at meetings.    Please let us know if you will be leaving your child during meetings.   If a member is not able to attend a scheduled 4H meeting due to illness or because of other obligations, please contact the club secretary or one of the leaders prior to the meeting.  As parents,  you are the best judge of how much responsibility your child can handle.  Ideally the club member should contact someone, however age or ability appropriate is fine.  Make it a goal by the end of the year to have your child do the phone call if possible.

It is important for your child to feel comfortable in the group setting and we encourage you to let us know what approach works well with your child    If you are able to help out in anyway, please let us know.   Lending a hand during meetings or at outside events,  providing snacks/meals when needed,  driving,  or  phone calling is a great way to help  the club and is always appreciated.
