Horse Show Rules
1. Leadline riders are ages 5 – 7 as of January 1st of the current show year, and may not compete in any other events.
2. Walk Trot riders are ages 8 - 18 as of January 1st of the current show year, and may not compete in any other events.
3. A Junior is ages 8 - 13 as of January 1st of the current show year.
4. A Senior is ages 14 to 18 as of January 1st of the current show year.
5. An Adult is 19 and over as of January 1st of the current show year.
6. Beginner W/T/C/L is open to All Riders ages 8 -18, FIRST YEAR CANTER RIDER ONLY!
7. All horses that kick must wear a red ribbon in their tail.
8. Safety is our first concern. Unruly horses and/or people will be asked to leave the showground without refund.
9. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
10. ASTM Approved helmets must be worn by all participants 19 and under as of January 1st of the current show year.
All riders must wear hard soled shoes with a heel.
11. There will be two stable calls prior to each class. There will be no holds on classes; classes will be closed two
minutes after final call.
12. Participants are responsible for their own property. 4H Pepperell Trailblazers shall not be held responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property.
13. This horse show is being run under the rules of the Massachusetts’s 4-H Horse Show Rule Book.
14. Refunds are not given unless bonafied injury to horse or rider.
15. Stallions are not permitted at this show.
16. Bats, whips, crops or roweled spurs and running martingales are not permitted in the gymkhana classes.
17. Any type of tie down, draw or side reins, flash and drop nosebands are not permitted in flat classes.
18. Copy of current Coggins test is required. Name/description must be the same on all the paperwork.
19. Show committee reserves the right to combine or cancel classes or change class order if needed.
20. Ride for the cure is open to all, it is a walk only class.
